Verifying Volunteer Hours

We are very proud of the fact that every volunteer hour is verified by the nonprofit being served or an affiliated organization working with a teenager. We believe it is very important to verify hours for two reasons: 1) we want the teens' civic transcripts to be authenticated and 2) since we are giving points to teens for their contributions (which can be “cashed in” for cash grants for nonprofits), it is important that these contributions be validated.

How Hours are Verified:

When teens log in their volunteer time, they must enter the nonprofit contact’s name, email address and phone number. We validate that information. The nonprofit contact will get an email with the information entered by the teen. That nonprofit must "approve" or "modify" the information before it is entered into the GivingPoint database.

Nonprofits can also register on GivingPoint to enter the names and volunteer hours for teens. (Each nonprofit must be verified and approved before using the GivingPoint site to log in volunteer hours).
