TestimonialsGivingPoint enables students to find their passion and connect with a global community of supporters. We are fueling their giving hearts and creating a world of civic leaders, one student at a time. Here are what students, nonprofits, and schools are saying about GivingPoint: "GivingPoint is an ideal nonprofit partner in the community. Through our collaborative service-learning programs, we equipped youth with critical life skills and inspired them to become lifetime contributors to society. Their programs fit our strategic objectives to educate and train youth to become better environmental and civic stewards. Together, we successfully prepared youth for college, work and life. During my time volunteering with the students, I was inspired by them. Sometimes in the media, the current generation of high school age kids can be negatively portrayed. It was refreshing to see this group of students willingness to give their time, sweat, and blisters to help others." - Mark Gupton, CPCU,CLU, State Farm Insurance Agent, Alpharetta, GA
"It is a great honor to receive the GivingPoint grant award because I do work hard to serve those in need," Steves says. "More importantly, I hope I inspire other teenagers to get on GivingPoint and fuel their passions. I want my work with the YMCA and GivingPoint to help others become more involved in their communities. GivingPoint is allowing me to aid the work of my local YMCA, and that simply 'rocks my socks.'" - Lauren Steves, first student to reach 1,500 points and reward $750 in GivingPoint grants to the YMCA.
"GivingPoint has added a new philanthropic platform to our student programs. Through GivingPoint, students who never dreamed of donating money and supporting causes they care about are becoming raging philanthropists. GivingPoint is helping to create a generation of life-long contributors, and we are truly grateful to have this program at the YMCA." - Wesley Bender, Metro Atlanta YMCA director of student initiatives.
"We look forward to seeing the points add up, the civic transcripts fill up, and the many charities benefit from the wonderful grants earned by our students." - Hershell Bennett, Assistant Principal, Alpharetta High School
"I can proudly say that My GivingPoint profile was instrumental to my bid for the Simon Scholarship. They were very impressed by the amount of money I had raised, and the GivingPoint award I recieved last year. It is one thing to volunteer, but being able to offer money to non-profits is a luxury unavailable to most!"
- Forest Ogunyankin, GivingPoint Student Advisor, Member of the Dunwoody YMCA
"I am Priyanka Ramesh and am a proud member of GivingPoint. Ever since I joined GivingPoint, I have become more aware of what I do and ultimately, who I am and what is my potential. I love what I do now. Through its various grants for nonprofits, GivingPoint has inspired me to offer my helping hand and mind to others. GivingPoint has admittedly made me into a better citizen and leader. Thank You GivingPoint!"
- Priyanka Ramesh, Student at Alpharetta High School
"I donate the majority my time through GivingPoint because GivingPoint has helped me to participate and lead the fight against breast cancer. I am passionate about fighting breast cancer because breast cancer runs in my family. My grandmother and two great aunts are breast cancer surviors. Through GivingPoint, I am able to raise awareness for prevention measures to educate students, such as eating healthy, excercising, and making regular visits to the doctor for early detection. I am leading the effort at my school to help students to live healthier lives."
- India Oliver, Junior at Carver Health Sciences and Reserach
