Student Advisory Board

Through GivingPoint, students are making a huge impact and becoming life-long philanthropists. They are learning about community needs, getting involved in nonprofits that fuel their passion, building their civic transcripts, creating impressive social footprints, and solving big problems in our society. To help GivingPoint grow and remain the best on-line tool to inspire students, we created a Student Advisory Board. These students are providing great feedback and offering terrific guidance and advice.

Here’s who they are:

Channing Johnson from Alpharetta, GA (passionate about impacting lives through his volunteer work and helping the Alpharetta YMCA student program succeed)

Mae Davis from Sandy Springs, GA (passionate about volunteering at Ridegview Middle School)

Lauren Steves from Canton, GA (passionate about volunteering at the YMCA and helping others in need)

Danielle Reed from Dunwoody, GA (passionate about her volunteer work at the YMCA and creating awareness and compassion for diverse cultures)

Brad Mixon from Canton, GA (passionate about his mission work through City on a Hill Church)

Isabelle Marsh from Alpharetta, GA (passionate about helping nature centers and volunteering)

Alex Young from Alpharetta, GA (passionate about showing God's love through music and serving others)

Forest Ogunyankin from Dunwoody, GA (passionate about helping hundreds of children and families in under-resourced communities through the YMCA Student Leaders program)

Great news! Forest recently received a Simon Scholarship.  Here's what he says about GivingPoint helping him to win the scholarship, “I can proudly say that my GivingPoint profile was instrumental to my bid for the Simon Scholarship. They were very impressed by my volunteer accomplishments, my ability to create solutions to problems and the amount of money I had raised to help starving families. It is one thing to volunteer, but being able to offer new ideas and money to non-profits you serve is a luxury unavailable to most students!"
