Project Additional Details
To raise the money necessary for the project, the fund-raising patrol will make fliers for donations that will be e-mailed to school sports teams’ presidents. If necessary, fliers will be printed and given to the athletic director to be distributed to the coaches of sports teams. The flier will describe the cause, pictures, and the future image. When the e-mail is sent out to the presidents of the sports teams, they will send it to all the members of the sports team. The donations would go to the treasurer for safe keeping. The treasurer then will record the information needed into the ledger and put the money in a secure location. The fliers state where to send the donation, and who to make the checks out to. Each person who donates will receive a donation receipt and a thank you letter.
The problem you want to help solve? The AHS Raider mascot paintings currently on the sidewalk are worn down. They are faded and it is difficult to make out what they truly are. The sidewalk is dirty looking due to construction work around the school.
Why is it important? This is important for school pride and school spirit.
Who will benefit? Alpharetta High School students and fans.
What will you be doing? The Raider logos will be made using newly created stencils as part of this project. The process will be done by layering different pieces of stencil on top of each other. There will be four layers of stencil for each Raider because there are four colors in the new logo. The first color that will go on is light grey, then dark grey, then red, and finally black. The paint recommended by an art specialist at Sherwin Williams recommended oil based concrete paint. This would not need any sealer because it is already specially made for concrete so it will not ware. A grainy material was also recommended to be mixed with the paint to prevent slippery sidewalk when wet.
The Urgency ranking looks for projects which:
- Will help students who've never been funded before;
- Have been partially funded by several donors; and
- Don't have much time left.
The ranking is automated and updated throughout each day.
