If you are interested, join this, and email me at miranda@isipho.org, or write the letter you want to send to Mazwendoda Secondary School to our address; P.O. Box 15167 Atlanta, GA 30333
Write about your hobbys and you school your friends and your interests. Ask questions about their favorite music, their goals in life, etc. The principal will review each letter before passing it on to the students.
The problem you want to help solve? The illiteracy of the High School students in the village of Nzinga, expand the
student's world views. It also greatly expands our volunteers world views and gives them a chance to get to know children of the same age in a third world society. They also want to practice their English to pass their exams.
Why is it important? It is important for the youth in our society to understand life in a third world situation, which is how a good percentage of the world lives, and to hear it from the people who live there! It is also a good chance for the children of Nzinga to expand their world views. It also allows them to work on their English, which helps them pass their examinations!!
Who will benefit? Everybody! The people here in the U.S. who volunteer to write to them, the students from Mazwendoda Secondary School, and Isipho!
What will you be doing? I will be writing as well as helping any volunteers with guidance. I am here to answer any questions! I will also be posting discussion topics and ideas for peoples letters.
The Urgency ranking looks for projects which:
- Will help students who've never been funded before;
- Have been partially funded by several donors; and
- Don't have much time left.
The ranking is automated and updated throughout each day.
