The PWY Campaign helps many different avenues of the YMCA but it especially helps Leaders Club. At the Ashford Dunwoody YMCA our Leaders Club volunteers weekly to referee soccer and basketball and host other activites and programs that benefit the youth of our YMCA. The PWY Campaign in turn donates a large amount of money to us every summer so that we are able to go to Blue Ridge Leaders School in North Carolina. The going rate is about $600 per teen, but at our Y we only have to pay for $105 of it. The rest comes from the money we raise for the PWY Campaign. Everything comes back to the community.
  • The problem you want to help solve?
    I want to make sure that children and teens donate as much as possible from every penny raised in the PWY Campaign.
  • Why is it important?
    This campaign is important because it's the community helping the community. The same memebers and people who donate are the same ones who give every year or even receive the scholarships ever year, and vis versa.
  • Who will benefit?
    Last year the PWY Campaign raised $147,000 that sent 83 children to summer camps and 68 children to the Prime Time afterschool program.
  • What will you be doing?
    I will be making phone calls ever Tuesday from 6-8pm calling members of my YMCA and informing them about the campaign and encouraging them to donate. I must raise $600 through these call nights and on my own to go towards the PWY Campaign for my club.
