Project Additional Details
This is an ongoing project that will include many other service days. Local groups are welcome to come and participate for a day or come on a regular basis
The problem you want to help solve? Our food travels thousands of miles to get to our local grocery store. By growing food locally and joining the local food movement, we can cut down on emissions from transportation and growing.
Why is it important? We have reached a very crucial moment in our ability to reverse global warming. It is important that we start to make environmentally friendly changes in our daily lives.
Who will benefit? The entire Alpharetta community will benefit from the project. The Special Education program at Alpharetta High School will also benefit from the use of the garden for instruction during the day.
What will you be doing? I will help to recruit volunteers, plan the service day, and help out during the day.
The Urgency ranking looks for projects which:
- Will help students who've never been funded before;
- Have been partially funded by several donors; and
- Don't have much time left.
The ranking is automated and updated throughout each day.
