The problem you want to help solve? Before the lesson programs can use the trails, they have to be safe for the horses and children. The trails are a great learning opportunity, and a fun excursion in the summer. We also want to help get the property cleaned up for when the electricity is installed and for our summer camp open house.
Why is it important? Cleaning up the property makes it safer for the staff, horses, and families that are there everyday. There are lots of construction materials left over from the recent building, and they need to be moved to storage.
Who will benefit? This project will benefit the entire program and those who come to the property by allowing better access to the property and the trails. The cleanup will make the paths to the arena safer by removing many of the rocks leftover from the crush and run slag that was poured to soak up the mud, and make it safer for our riders.
What will you be doing? The volunteers will divide into groups, and then work in separate areas, such as the driveway, arena path, and back trails. Each group will have a different list of things that we would like to get accomplished in the time that we have to work on the property.
The Urgency ranking looks for projects which:
- Will help students who've never been funded before;
- Have been partially funded by several donors; and
- Don't have much time left.
The ranking is automated and updated throughout each day.
