Points System Explained

GivingPoint wants to recognize teens for the legacies they are building as good community citizens. We have established a rewards and recognition program just for GivingPoint teens. Teens are rewarded through points for learning about causes, taking quizzes on important topics of the day, and contributing time, talent and treasure.

Here’s what teens can do to earn points:

For volunteering their time, they can earn 5 points per hour, up to 5000 points per calendar year.

For volunteering their talent, they can earn 10 points per hour, up to 5000 points per calendar year.

For raising funds for nonprofits, they can earn 1 point for every $10 dollars fundraised through GivingPoint (on their projects page), up to 1000 points per calendar year.

For taking each "Cause Quiz", they can earn 10 points. (Teens earn points only if they score 75% or higher on each quiz. They can take the quizzes as many times as they like, but they are only awarded 10 points once per quiz).

For blog entries, they can earn 5 points per entry (but their blog needs to be a minimum of 50 words and it needs to describe their volunteer experience), up to 100 points per calendar year.

By posting a project, teens can earn 25 points (once approved, up to 250 points per calendar year).

For inviting friends, they can earn 5 points for every friend that actually joins GivingPoint, up to 250 points per calendar year.

Once a teen earns 500 points, they can apply for micro-grants for the causes they care about!
