GivingPoint News

Welcome to GivingPoint! We strive to be open and transparent as we create new models for young budding philanthropists to get more involved in causes they care about. We wanted to share our transformational priorities for the year. Every day, we will work towards these goals. With your help, we can succeed!

  • We will create a national base of role models teaching teens how to drive social change.
  • We are continuously developing leading-edge technology that attracts socially conscious teenagers and helps them to discover and fuel their unique social passion.
  • We are becoming the young social entrepreneur’s resource center of choice -- facilitating active participation in causes that matter to them.
  • We are a vehicle for nonprofits to understand, attract, engage and inspire social innovators.
  • We have generated an active, diverse group of donors, supporters and volunteers who are providing sustainable funds and resources to support young people who care.

Through GivingPoint, we are building a generation of civic leaders – one teen at a time!

GivingPoint Partners With Schools That Want To Recognize Volunteer Service

Great news! GivingPoint launches a new rewards program, "Service Cords for Stellar Students" to recognize the young social entrepreneurs who are making an impact in their communities!

GivingPoint partners with schools to reward and recognize outstanding, dedicated seniors with Service Cords at graduation. Service Cords are donated by GivingPoint and given to qualified students at each school, preferably at a celebration ceremony or part of a previously scheduled graduation event.

More than 400 Carver High School students performed Thursday in a music video celebrating a new partnership between GivingPoint and the State Farm Youth Advisory Board. The students performed the modern unity theme “Changing this World Together!” as part of the announcement that State Farm has awarded a $70,200 grant to build a unity garden and courtyard for more than 1,000 underprivileged students at Carver High School.

SocialVest believes that everyone wants to make a difference, but the time, money and "know how" aren't always there.

That's why SocialVest built a system that allows you to give back through something you already do everyday: shop.

When you join SocialVest, a percentage of everything you buy goes directly to your Socialvest account. From there, you can donate your SocialVest dollars to causes that matter to you the most - hopefully that's GIVINGPOINT!

Hey Volunteers! Please join GivingPoint when we showcase student-run projects on September 22nd at the Atlanta Zoo! We will be hosting an event where students create projects for causes they care about. Then, during the event, donors and sponsors will walk from presentation/project to other presentations/projects and "vote" for their favorite. The student will the greatest number of votes will receive funding for their respective project. In the end, we hope to raise awareness about perspective causes and ignite a passion of another fellow student.
