EducationEuropeans and Asians have rapidly expanded their educational systems over the last 50 years. United States stagnation and even decline has been apparent since the 1970s. Even our high school graduation rates are lower today than they were a decade ago. In fact, seventeen of the nation's 50 largest cities had high school graduation rates lower than 50 percent, with the lowest graduation rates reported in Detroit, Indianapolis and Cleveland, according to a report by the America’s Promise Alliance.
Did you know that about half of the students served by public school systems in the nation's largest cities don’t receive diplomas and over 1 million students drop our of school annually? We need to do something now to improve our weak educational systems!
