Tuesday July 20, 2010 was the date and giving children love and attention. The Ultimate Life Summit Alumni were honored to go to a church in downtown Orlando during a summer church camp to show young children from the ages of 4 to 12 love and compassion. When we got there I was so surprised to see the facility in which these children were kept. The rooms were tiny with no air conditioner and the windows had shutters on them which to me made the rooms look like prison. After seeing the facility I saw how these kids were treated. I was shocked to see how they were treated. Children should not be yelled at constantly and kept in small room in humid heat. Not only that but also there weren't enough games or toys to keep these children busy, and the book quality was weak. These children need love, they need someone to play with them and show them attention. That is exactly what we did. I was given the opportunity to get to know two kids, there names were Lorenzo and Latoya. They both were 5 years old and both lived in a very rough home. The stories these kids told me were so hard for me to hear. Both had parents in and out of prison, both saw violence at home more then often and both did not get the love they needed or deserved from there parents. To see those children smile and the happiness in there eyes was most inspirational thing I have ever seen and all I did was play with them, hug the, gave them piggy back rides and held them in my arms. I will never forget that experience and I will give back to children in similar circumstances until the day I die.
